Heritage area improvement plan for Hauz Quazi area in the Walled City

The Commission considered this area for study from the point of view of utilization of the vacated spaces available for community facilities/open spaces where the Supreme Court had ordered shifting out a number of chemical units.The recommendations of the study are such which can be implemented without any substantial financial commitment or any radical changes in the area. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation being the main change agent in the area, they were requested to take into cognizance the recommendations emerging from the study while developing MRTS system passing through the Hauz Quazi area. This has been accepted by DMRC.
