C. PROJECT PROPOSALS:

1Proposal in respect of Installation of Artwork at Mandi House roundabout and Africa Avenue roundabout near Hotel Leela.
  1. On the occasion of the 46th World Heritage Committee Meeting, scheduled to be held from July 21, 2024, to July 31, 2024, in New Delhi, the Chief Architect of NDMC, via email dated July 15, 2024, has forwarded a proposal for art installations prepared by the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) and Lalit Kala Academy (LKA) for the Commission's consideration.
  2. The Commission considered the proposed art installations, identified by the Lalit Kala Academy for specific locations (Mandi house roundabout and Leela hotel, Chanakyapuri roundabout) at its meeting held on July 11, 2024 and specific observations were given.
  3.  The revised proposal for Artwork Installation received (online) at the formal stage was scrutinized, along with the previous observations of the Commission given at its meeting held on 11.07.2024, and a detailed discussion was held with the representative who provided clarifications to the queries of the Commission. Based on the previous observations given, the discussion held and the submission made, the following observations are to be complied with: 

a) Mandi house roundabout: The height of the platform should not be more than   3’-0”.

b) Leela hotel, Chanakyapuri roundabout: 15 feet high GI pipes light poles with 400 dia rcc footing should not be provided. The focus light should be on ground at an appropriate distance to light the sculpture.

Approved, observations given.
The Commission decided to take action in the matter without awaiting confirmation of the minutes of the meeting.

2Proposal in respect of Installation of Artwork at Windsor Place circle, Rotary no. 10 (Lok Kalyan Marg) and Rotary no. 13 (Cemetery Roundal).
  1. On the occasion of the 46th World Heritage Committee Meeting, scheduled to be held from July 21, 2024, to July 31, 2024, in New Delhi, the Chief Architect of NDMC, via email dated July 15, 2024, has forwarded a proposal for art installations prepared by the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) and Lalit Kala Academy (LKA) for the Commission's consideration.

The Commission considered the proposed art installations, identified by National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) for specific locations (Rotary No-27, Bhagat Singh Park, Rotary No-09, Sunhari Bagh, Rotary No-13, Cemetery Roundabout) at its meeting held on July 11, 2024 and specific observations were given.
  3.  The revised proposal for Artwork Installation at Windsor Place circle, Rotary no. 10 (Lok Kalyan Marg) and Rotary no. 13 (Cemetery Roundal) received (online) at the formal stage was scrutinized, along with the previous observations of the Commission given at its meeting held on 11.07.2024, and a detailed discussion was held with the representative who provided clarifications to the queries of the Commission. Based on the previous observations given, the discussion held, and the submission made, the following observations are to be complied with: 

a) Windsor Place circle: The NGMA officer present in the meeting explained that there are existing lights poles on site which would light the sculpture externally. Regarding maintenance, it was explained that there is ladder inside. The sculpture would be covered from top with openable cap to drain off water and to avoid falling of leaves, dirt etc. inside the sculpture.

b) Rotary no. 10 (Lok Kalyan Marg): The height of the pedestal should not be more than 2’-6”. The NGMA officer present in the meeting explained that there are existing lights poles on site which would light the sculpture externally.
