Prohibition of smoking at work places
The Commission is governed by the Prohibition Of Smoking in Public Places Rules, 2008 (Annexure)
as amended from time to time. In terms of these rules smoking in public places which include
workplaces is an offence.
The features of the policy of the Delhi Urban Art Commission relating to prohibition of smoking
at work places is as follows:-

Exposure to second-hand smoke/Environmental Tobacco Smoke (ETS) also known as passive smoking
is a cause of disease, including lung cancer and heart disease, in third parties. Neither the

from exposure to ETS, to ensure compliance with legal obligations and to ensure a safe working
environment.
