Ashok Vihar Greens
At Ashok Vihar Greens a new opportunity for a unique City Park has emerged.
Traveling on the new elevated Metro line that runs alongside the canal between the stations of Inderlok, Kanhayanagar, and Keshavpuram one can see this great City Park revealed as an important green landmark of North Delhi.
The string of smaller parks and open spaces that already exists can now be connected together to form a grand necklace of open spaces offering a variety of settings for different kinds of recreation. The Yamuna fresh water canal that now joins the Najafgarh water course running alongside and the Maharaja Nahar Singh Marg and the new metro line forms closing end of this necklace.
The Metro makes this park easily accessible to people from other parts of Delhi too, opening up the possibility of recreation and leisure facilities that will serve a city-wide population. These will range from fair ground and haats near the stations to sports clubs, cycling and jogging tracks, settings for outdoor cultural events, and promenades.
The stage is set for a great City Park at Ashok Vihar Green.
