Signage and Street Furniture

The 'Strategic Partnership' initiated by the Ministry of Urban Development in August 2006 led to five Committees being set up. The one concerned with street furniture and signage was to be convened by the DUAC. This Committee had representatives of the MCD, NDMC, the DTC, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, the Traffic Police and the PWD. As a result, they were able to discuss many aspects of common concern. Their report made recommendations to make public areas in the City visually harmonious and more congenial and safe particularly for the disabled and for pedestrians.
